About Us
Twin Variety is led by partners Kim & Winston (Howdy! that's us). We've been collaborating since meeting through The Cooper Union's Type@Cooper West program in San Francisco a decade ago. We now operate in beautiful Portland, Oregon. 🌲🏔️
We partner with companies, brands, and nonprofits on projects of all sizes to help you communicate through design, illustration, and lettering. We're also available to join agencies as individual contributors on a project basis.
It's not always advantageous to call yourself a generalist these days, but that's truly who we are as designers and creatives. We love solving problems and helping you communicate clearly and effectively, no matter what the solution requires. That said, we do have our specialties! Check out how we can collaborate below.
Our Capabilities
Visual Brand
Visual branding is what we do best. We specialize in type design, lettering, and illustration to create custom wordmarks and visuals that fit your vision.
Lettering & Type
With our expertise in hand-lettering and typeface design, we create custom type for advertising campaigns, editorial work, logo design, and more.
Illustration
Illustration is a great way to make your brand stand out. Giving a human touch to anything a little too corporate, or punching up the personality of your brand even more.
Packaging
We design packaging for food & beverage. Working with clients and manufacturers, we create visually striking products that meet all regulations and production specifications.
Editorial & Reports
We work with a large number of clients that often need a report and/or publication. Our studio creates both print and digital documents for public-facing campaigns, internal company use, events, and retail.
Digital
A lot of work we do isn’t top down—rather, we create assets for an existing campaign or company brand. These assets include but are not limited to social media posts, iconography, animated ads, basic websites, and email.
Print Design
Print design is a broad term—but in our case, we apply it to anything printed that doesn't fall under packaging. This includes non-digital pieces such as posters, event programs, magazines, annual reports, signage, stationery, and mailers.
